Ameer Azim is a Financial Economist at Climate Advisers, where he focuses on researching the financial impacts of climate responses on the group’s areas of coverage.
He brings expertise in a range of financial transactions, capital markets, and the developing field of Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) finance.
Ameer is also the Chief Financial Economist at Orbitas, a Centre of Excellence incubated by Climate Advisers Trust that examines climate response risks for the tropical commodities sector. Ameer’s interest and experience in sustainable finance began over a decade ago when the field was still in its infancy. Prior to joining Climate Advisers, Ameer worked for Silver Leaf Partners, a regional boutique investment bank in New York City. He co-developed their impact investment platform, before joining their investment banking team executing private debt and equity transactions for middle and lower middle-market companies within sustainability aligned business models.
Ameer has had previous stints with Citi, Barclays and ABN Amro Bank in their Private Wealth divisions. He holds an A.B. in Economics from College of William and Mary, a M.S. in Sustainability Management from Columbia University, and is currently pursuing the CFA charter. He is an avid runner, loves to travel and explore new cultures and cuisines, and is a season ticket holder at Arsenal FC.
